When I visited in 2005, I was extremely impacted by the level of poverty in this region.  There is a 60% unemployment rate, political instability, and natural disasters that have wreaked havoc.  This co-op is awesome and has placed in the top three in the Nicaragua Cup of Excellence.   A photo of our mural hangs in their meeting room and we maintain a strong relationship with these people.  The coffee is elegant and pleasing.  Hanging out in the higher end of the spectrum, it is really alive on the pallet.
